School is almost back in session. That means teachers will be digging into their own pockets to get their classrooms ready for their students. Luckily, a program called Tools 4 Clay Schools is picking up the bill for their school supplies.
During any school year, teachers spend an average of $600-$750 on classroom materials. To help ease that burden, the Clay Education Foundation founded Tools 4 Clay Schools to donate free supplies to teachers in Clay County District Schools.

This year, the school supply drive grows even larger as we embrace the hard work of Clay Education Foundation and Impact Clay to collect supplies for students in Clay County on Friday, July 19.

Heather Miller, an educator at Lake Asbury Elementary School, was recognized Thursday night as the Clay County “Teacher of the Year” during the Clay Education Foundation’s Apple Awards.

Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and in partnership with Clay County District Schools, Carolyn Krall has been named the new President/CEO of the Clay Education Foundation. Krall succeeded Makayla Buchanan, who left the Foundation to support public education at the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations.

Clay Education Foundation, the direct-support 501c3 organization for Clay County District Schools, today announced it has received a grant for $1,000 from VyStar Credit Union.
This year’s scholarship awards were higher than usual because of the opportunity MPWC had to partner with the Clay Education Foundation. CEF introduced a new program that allowed the Women’s Club to pledge funds and, in turn, receive matching funds from the state through CEF.
The Salvation Army, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay Education Foundation, 121 Financial and the Middleburg Civic Association are a few of the groups collecting supplies for distribution ahead of the first day of classes on Aug. 10.
The Foundation started the district’s first robotics club, which is now sustained by the district. Its focus goes in multiple directions with career pathways for kindergarten-through-8th grade students, cybersecurity and drones.
The Fair has partnered with 16 local charities and 16 local artists to raise awareness for the participating charities during the Fair. Artists and Fair volunteers will be painting picnic tables that will be branded for the charity and displayed during the 11 days of the Fair.
